Fight Club is a 1996 novel by Chuck Palahniuk and 1999 film by David Fincher about an insomniac office worker and an enigmatic soap salesman who form a secret, underground club where men fight each other. The club evolves into Project Mayhem, an anti-consumerist, anti-capitalist domestic terrorist organization. The narrative explores themes of identity, alienation, masculinity, and the societal consequences of materialism, culminating in a major twist revealing the narrator and Tyler Durden are the same person.
